From an elevated tee looking look down a sloping fairway, a tee shot that favours the right hand side will leave a clear view for your approach to the green. A large swale protects the front and right hand side of the green and will gather any poorly struck shots.

The first of the par 3’s, this short hole takes no prisoners. With out of bounds running all the way down the left boundary of the hole, a well-guarded green with bunkers protecting either side proves a tough test.

From a sheltered teeing area, an accurate tee shot should be placed onto the left edge of the fairway to leave the best approach shot onto a large uphill Mackenzie green. A shot to the right rough will be blocked out by the coppice

An uphill tee shot to a large receptive green, the yardage is a premium on this hole as players often fall short. Be sure to take an extra club.

A tough testing par 5 that not many golfers reach in two, a daunting drive which once again favours the left of a sloping fairway. A high risk, high reward second shot which must carry the ditch positioned 90 yards from the green or a sensible one short of the ditch leaves a wedge onto another large bunkered green and chance of a birdie.

A picturesque par 4 with the fairway sloping gently from left to right, a good tee shot with leave the golfer a short iron into a green secured by three bunkers on the left. Miss itright and you will catch the steep downslope to leave a tricky chip shot.

With an uphill tee shot to the left of the two trees and over the marker post to a dog leg right fairway. Then an approach shot to an elevated undulating green requires accuracy to avoid a sloping right run off.

Difficult par 3 with a long carry over a water feature and bunkers guarding the green front left and right. To achieve par make sure you take enough club.

A testing par 4 which requires a long accurate drive to the right hand side of a sloping fairway. This will give extra length to your drive as your ball runs away to the left . An approach shot to the green will test golfers of all abilities.

The fourth par 3 requires a long tee shot preferably hit to the left to avoid the large bunker on the right. Anything hit short right will run away, leaving a tough up and down on the large undulating green.

The longest hole on the course has a blind tee shot towards the black and white marker post in the centre of the fairway. A good lay-up shot is required down the left hand side, steering clear of the out of bounds and stream to the right, leaving a short pitch to the green.

A long par 5 which requires a good straight drive to reach a plateaued fairway The key to the hole is the second shot which you must place short of the ditch that runs across the fairway, leaving a tricky shot onto a large elevated green which you must not miss right.

A very tight driving hole with out of bounds all the way down the left hand side, a well thought out deft approach shot is required to hold a very tricky green which runs sharply from right to left.

Stroke index 1, a long tee shot hit to the left of the marker post will leave you with a semi blind second shot playing up and over the crest of the hill, a difficult narrow approach and green leaves the golfer thankful of his bogey.

Houghwoods second feature hole, a beautiful panoramic par 3 from the tee and depending on wind direction could choose any golf club in the bag. A slight reverse Mackenzie green completes your test.

A dog leg par 5 with out of bounds left and right, this tight driving hole will be rewarded by a straight tee shot towards the black and white marker leaving you with a shot to a well-guarded green with bunkers at the front and back or play safe to give you a better chance of a birdie.

The final drive of the day all uphill with out of bounds situated all along the right e of this hole A large well protected green with a pond to the left and a bunker to the right sits in front of the stone faced clubhouse where diners will watch you finish the day with a well-deserved par.
